About our practice
We recognize that each patient is an individual and has unique
goals. There is no cookbook formula that works for all patients,
especially those with neurological conditions or who suffer chronic pain. For
example, approximately 50% of the chronic pain patients referred to
Dr. Anderson end up having a reduction in their overall medication
use, while still showing improvement in their condition.
Some patients have an increase in medication use.
Dr. Anderson came to San Francisco in 1993. After internship and
residency training (University of California, Davis, East Bay), Dr.
Anderson was employed by a medical group.
In 2000,
Dr. Anderson served a five-year term as the Director of Pain
Management for St. Mary's Medical Center and also at St. Mary's Spine
Center. During this time, Dr. Anderson gained additional experience
in treating pain related to musculoskeletal conditions and spine
disorders.
In 2005, Dr. Anderson was invited to join the
Neuroscience Institute at
California Pacific
Medical Center. In preparation for the new office building
(which hopefully will open by 2010), Dr. Anderson moved his practice to the future site
of the Neuroscience Institute, the Davies Campus of CPMC.
In 2007, Dr. Anderson hired a wholly new office
staff with a focus on patient satisfaction.

Insurance Information
We strive to accept most insurance plans. We accept most common
private insurance plans as well as the major government plans.
Please note that by accepting some insurance plans, we are
contractually obligated to NOT accept some competitors insurance
plans. That is a mandate from the insurance companies. Even so, we
accept most of the plans in the San Francisco area, including the

Medical Services
- Patient care in the medical office and hospitals of
California Pacific Medical Center. Dr. Anderson is actively
involved in the care of patients who have failed other treatment
programs.
- Medico-legal evaluation for persons with neurological and/or
painful disorders. Dr. Anderson is a qualified medical
evaluator.
- Peer review and participation in standard of care committees
in order to better establish the community standard of care in
pain medicine.
- Medical education for physicians and other medical
professionals. Dr. Anderson lectures extensively on various
topics.
- Authoring textbook and journal articles on various
neurological and painful conditions.
Dr. Anderson has prepared a
financial disclosure regarding some
of his medical services. Although there is no national directive to
disclose this information, Dr. Anderson believes that patients and
potential patients should be aware of his financial associations.
